What it is to Burn

Once again, a long while between updates. I would say that it's because nothing has been going on, but the opposite is true.

My brother is in the process of divorcing his wife. I'm unwilling to condemn her, but she has some problems, and she has caused problems within our family. My brother, of course, has my support, and I am, frankly, quite happy to see him finally being more of a father to Micahalia - who, incidentally, turns 13 today.

I have moved into a larger apartment. Finally have an office, and it's been a good thing for productivity. I'm in the process of developing a city setting for a fantasy game - I'm doing it completely on-spec, which may be foolish, but it's working for me right now.

I had an astoundingly bad Saturday night, alleviated by many texts and phone calls. One contact in particular has me cautiously optimistic about things, and today I got some expected closure from another. Right now, that feels pretty good.

I'm hosting Christmas dinner at my new place on Friday. I'm excited about this - I honestly haven't felt much of the holiday spirit this year, but for a small handful of reasons, this makes me feel good. It's going to be a fun day.

For the five of you out there still reading this, I'm going to try to be more active around here. I need to keep writing, in whatever form I can manage.

what Gena said.
Hope you have a decent holiday without the usual Sturm und drang. Wouldn't mind hearing from you more often.
:D

Go ahead and keep updating. Ultimately the audience for these is, I think, down the road, you. It certainly is for me--I can look back several years now and see what I was doing 'back then.'

I'm glad things are looking up :)

I think you're right - I know in the next few months I'm going to be reviewing a lot of entries from the past year or so.

I do indeed. Thank you for listening these past couple of weeks.
