Blind Spot

We wrapped up the Earthdawn game last night. Big fight. Lots of magic. Two PCs died. We killed the heck out of a bunch of slavers.

In the after-game analysis, I'm of mixed feelings on the game. I wanted to like it a whole lot more than I did, and the setting and plot were really good. My gripe has to do with the character advancement scheme. I think the separations of skills and talents and circles is unnecessarily complex, and in the case of this game, decreased my enjoyment of the play. I don't know how to fix it - my talents are much more skewed towards worldbuilding than rules work. I'm pretty sure the now-delayed D&D 4th Edition adaptation wouldn't be it, though.

One other player had issue with the dice allocation system. Didn't bother me, but I can understand the frustration.
