For Pete's Sake

About a year ago, FFG announced the second era sourcebook for its Star Wars RPG line - Rise of the Separatists. By their status tracker, the book was put on the freighter from China in September. That's usually a four-to-six week travel time, with another week or two to retail shelves. Early December came and went, no book. Rumors started circulating about a bad print run that wasn't discovered until the shipment was already in the States, and that seems to have been the case. A few copies, maybe reprints, were available at Star Wars Celebration a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday, the book's status finally changed to Now Shipping. In between RotS going On The Boat and starting to ship to retailers, the second Clone Wars era book, Collapse of the Republic, and a character sourcebook, Allies & Adversaries, were announced, and A&A hit the stores.

Tomorrow morning, if the weather doesn't interfere, I'll get to watch the KDF's Great Balloon Race take off from Bowman Field. Takeoff is scheduled for 7AM, and that's going to be hella early, since I'm planning to be out until around 2AM tonight. Working until midnight, and then finding something to get into for a couple of hours after that so I won't have to deal with Housemate's current ambulatory fuckmeat. The radiating neediness messes with my equilibrium.

Tomorrow afternoon, I'll have to adjust my route to PNC Tower because of another KDF event, a marathon. Not nearly so interesting as the balloons, but to each their own. And next weekend is the Derby itself, a two-minute horse race that this city throws a three-week party to prepare for.
