How Soon is Now

This morning's big news is the life sentence handed down to Zacharias Moussaoui.  There were cries for execution, but I think life in prison is a better punishment for him.  Execution would just make him a martyr and further encourage like-minded fanatics.

Summer blockbuster season starts tomorrow.  Mission: Impossible 3.  There goes $12.

Off to work.  Woo.  I've gotta get out of there.

I'm not so sure that life in prison is a preferable solution. This way, his ostensible friends back in the Land of Rocks and Goats can make outrageous demands involving his release, then use him as an excuse to kill hostages.

Oh, wait. They do that anyway.

Enjoy your new cave.

That Federal Supermax in Colorado is like America's oubliette. For the rest of his misbegotten life, he's going to be in a hole somewhere, with no real human contact.

France has started asking about extradition, but I haven't heard any of the reasons.
