Something to Believe In

This morning is Kitty Soccer World Cup Day, apparently.

It's mayoral election time in Lexington.  The primary election is fairly soon, with four candidates.  The two with the most votes go on to the November general election.  Our incumbent mayor, Teresa Isaac, is looking for re-election.  While I'm not especially impressed with Isaac, I'm going to throw one of my votes her way.  The other one is going to Jim Newberry.  Bill Farmer, by nature of launching attack ads on Newberry for bein' a filthy librul, gets nothing but scorn.  Charles Martin wants the city's smoking ban revoked, so he's out, too.

Have to read up on the various city council candidates.

Just out of curiosity, does Martin have any other platform than "I'ma kill the smoking ban?" Not that I've any intention of voting for him, but it will make me laugh if he gets it just because of that.

Thanks for keeping me updated on the local election. I'm trying to buy the paper so I don't miss the ##$$%@#$% thing altogether, but it's hard. I'm so out of the loop this election. I plead France. Who's running, and for what? And what are their platforms?
