Endings

Stargate SG-1 comes to an end after this season.

It was a good run.  I expect we'll see occasional appearances by SG-1 cast members on Atlantis.  Maybe another series in a couple of years.

I'm quite alright with this. SG-1 has had it's run, and a good one at that. But it's definately reached that point where they're often reaching.

Now, if I could just manage to get into Atlantis.

I think the show could have done well with a "filler season" between the end of the Goa'uld threat and the appearance of the Orii.

I like Atlantis well enough, and it and BSG will keep me watching for a good long while, I hope. With my luck, though, the SciFi Channel will schedule Doctor Who between the two of them on Friday nights, and I'll become distracted by some shiny object.

From what I hear, The Dresden Files will be getting SG-1's timeslot. That's some small consolation.

Oh, and we should have the Doctor Who spinoff, Torchwood next year too.

I'm looking forward to Dresden, but just can't get into Doctor Who. It's never done anything for me.

Heh, I guess it's a British thing. Does it help if I get you to think of him as a slightly more camp MacGyver? They both don't use guns, for starters.

I don't know what it is - it just leaves me cold. I had a friend in college who was truly aghast that I liked neither Doctor Who nor Babylon 5.
