My Blade Runner Kickstarter stuff arrived over the weekend, and it is unsurprisingly gorgeous. The core book is great, familiar enough from Alien that I'm breezing through the rules and paying much more attention to the setting and case-building material. I went in for the boxed starter set, too, and oh my goodness this thing is just packed full of good stuff. A condensed rule book, of course, and an introductory investigation. Big big map of future alt-LA, photographs of subjects, in-universe documentation, and a pretty set of bespoke dice. I think this is going to be my January open gaming demo locally, with a switch to Alien for the end-of-month convention over in Cincy.

We're deep into the end-of-year holiday season. Christmas decorations are already up at work, and ... I don't resent them this time around. Mom would have loved seeing them, and I think maybe I'm feeling a little of her joy for Christmas. I miss her more keenly this season than last. I may have still been numbed or in shock from losing her last year. Curious.
