Thanks, everyone. I talked to my dad about some details regarding moving back home, and I think things are mostly hammered out. Now, I've just got to actually, y'know, get the job.
One of the biggest hindrances I'm going to face is not having any real newsroom experience in the last decade. I'm willing to bet I can outwrite anybody else up for the job, though.
No real experience means very little. I'd never worked at a helpdesk before I started working at the one I'm at now, and I was the best within a month ;)
Same goes for when I worked retail. Experience helps, but isn't always necessary.
