The Stand

Started reading His Majesty's Dragon last night.  Pretty neat, so far.

Battlestar Galactica gets back underway on Friday.

Watched the season finales of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, finally.  Happy with Atlantis, much less so with SG-1.

Hey, let's see if I get any mail today.

I've heard good things about His Majesty's Dragon - please report back. :)

For a novice writer's first published work, it's frickin' awesome. The second novel suffers a bit from being, well, the middle novel of an intended trilogy, but the third reforms itself in admirable fashion.

Note the caveat clause at the beginning of this post, though. Novik's a bit rocky in places, though it may be the anachronistic narrative voice she's chosen. I'm willing to cut her some slack.

I'm reading The Briar King by Greg Keyes. I recommend.

How can you not be happy with an ep of SG-1 that has Inara in it? (especially when she's in that Ori armour) :p

It was the last shot that did me in.

Two words: personal shield :p

That's how I'm predicting it to go, anyways.

Something like that, yeah. I don't know - I guess even my suspension of disbelief has its limits.
