Tea in the Sahara
Sep. 23rd, 2007 01:04 amWell, that was unexpected.
Aaron's LD&DM group got together for the monthly game tonight. I don't have much of a taste for D&D anymore, so I've started having an alternate game put together for those so interested. Tonight, I had two players - when the night started. We began our game, when Aaron asked if he could join in, as it looked like the others were going to skip playing in favor of shooting the breeze. Sure, I said, no prob. And then the floodgates opened. The rest of those in attendance asked to jump in. Oh, boy. Crash course in character generation and world history and other setting information. Got a big group put together. Quick explanation of how the rules work. By then, it was getting late. Asked the players if they wanted a quick and dirty intro followed by a real session next time, or a better-assembled story for the next meeting. The latter was unanimously favored. Asked for preferences as to story type. Unanimous response again. Much excitement about the newly-minted characters.
So, now, I've got two weeks to put together one bad mama-jama of a game session. I feel absolutely awesome.
