No one could have known ...
Jan. 11th, 2009 12:08 pmStill reading The Submarine, and it led to an interesting conversation with one of my co-workers - turns out he was a P-3 crewman back in the '80s. Pretty neat.
My copies of Dark Heresy and World of Darkness: Urban Legends came in. I haven't had a chance to give them much more of a cursory looking-over, but I think these are going to be really good reads. Urban Legends, especially, looks like it could be a good catalyst for moving a WoD game from a blue-books-only mortals game into Mage or Hunter.
Watched Mirrormask a couple of nights ago, and really enjoyed it. Stephanie Leonidas is five kinds of adorable, and the movie's otherworld was beautiful. Now watching the 2005 version of War of the Worlds, and while I'm digging on it for the most part, Dakota Fanning is still just creepy as all get-out. More so than Tom Cruise in this one, even. Worth watching for the "The world is ending right effing now!" sequences.
Played a couple games of Battlefield Evolution: Modern Combat yesterday, and came away plenty impressed. It plays very fast, and the prepainted models look good. Mongoose put a good set of rules together there ... pity the models are out of production for now, though.
The Arizona Cardinals looked incredible during their game against the Panthers yesterday; Tennessee lost to the Ravens, though. Hoping for Charger and Giant wins this afternoon.
