We have had us a storm. Saturday night, I left the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts around 10PM. It had rained all day, and a rapid cooling was on the way. A few snowflakes were mixing with the rain, and the wind pushed me around on my walk to the truck - and I'm not a small dude.
Got out of the alley where I'd parked - a block away - and the snow was now the majority of the precipitation. Wind was still crazy strong. Including a late-night errand, it took me about an hour to get home, and I watched the weather change as I drove. Snow mixed with ice and the ground was covered in a hurry. Snow blowing sideways. Got home, lifted my windshield wipers, and slid into bed.
Morning saw travel advisories for secondary roads, and a quick check of local subreddit told me that main roads were in good shape. I got out at my appointed hour and sure enough, I-264 was fine.Cold, though. Really cold. Long shift at a site over in the southwest end of the county. Quiet post, read a lot, listened to a few hours of podcasts, bundled up and went outside to check out a gorgeous total lunar eclipse. Went home, slept like the dead.
Saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse a few days ago. So very good - probably the best Spider-Man movie out there. Great work on all fronts - voices, storytelling, blending different art styles. Some surprises with characters, and some little snippets of dialogue hinting at relationships and stories that I would really like to see explored in some fashion. And it's got me watching for Comixology sales of Spider-Gwen collections.
