Star Wars Celebration is going on in Chicago this weekend. I've got a couple of friends there, working for FFG in one role or another, and it looks like people are having a good time. If finances were better, I would have accepted the offer to go with them. Maybe another year.

I've seen pictures of a huge mural at the show, with a panel for each film or TV property so far. The last panel is, of course, shrouded pending the reveal of the title of Episode 9. The Rebels panel is especially interesting, depicting the characters in a more realistic style, and Grand Admiral Thrawn bears a striking resemblance to Pierce Brosnan. I don't expect we'll ever see a live-action Thrawn, but Brosnan would be a pretty good choice to play him.

It's weird to say this, but I'm not very excited about Episode 9. The Last Jedi didn't work for me at all - I nearly walked out of the theater when I saw it, and a rewatch on Netflix wasn't any better. I'm more excited about the planned TV series than the movie. Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian looks like a good space opera Western, and the Cassian Andor series is a Star Wars espionage series, so heck yeah I'm on board. They're going to be Disney's upcoming streaming service, and at $7 a month, I'm absolutely had. Disney+ is also going to be home to a number of Marvel series, for extra value.

Thunder Over Louisville is tomorrow. Because I work for what seems to be an anthropomorphic cloud of uncertainty, I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow and probably won't until late this afternoon. If the site that the scheduler assigned me to tomorrow doesn't think they'll need me, I will keep that knowledge to myself and enjoy a day off. Let's see what happens.
