FFG let the cat out of the bag this afternoon - X-Wing Second Edition is for real, early release at GenCon and full retail release on September 13. Evolutionary changes instead of a whole new game. Backwards-compatible - conversion kits will contain the new ship/pilot/upgrade cards and maneuver dials for each faction. $40 for the new starter and $50 for the Rebellion conversion box, and I'll be set for a while before picking up the Imperial conversion box. Assuming I don't sell off my small S&V collection, that conversion box will wait for a time when a chunk of spare money is just demanding to be spent.

Yesterday's family visit was mostly good. Rather good late lunch at Coals Pizza, a good talk with The Niece, but a comment honestly meant to be positive filtered through my currently-messed-up brain chemistry and just knocked my feet completely out from under me.
