tracker7Jenn K was back in the area last week for some geocaching thing, so I drove to Lexington Thursday evening to chat with her and catch up a little bit. We're FB friends, but I don't follow her posts. Talked about games and a little bit about family, mostly, and it was good to see her again.
It's Memorial Day. What started as a day to remember men and women killed in the line of military service has become the opening weekend of summer, a time for cookouts and a long weekend for everyone except people in service industries. It's hard for me to not be cynical about the holiday, given the current political and cultural climates in the USA. I've seen a comment along the lines of "the best way to pay respect to dead soldiers is to oppose an agenda that seeks to make more of them." I can get behind that.
Tomorrow, continuing the push to unfuck myself.
