Just a few minutes ago, my desk phone here at work rang.  The caller was offering a great rate on a subscription.

The subscription was to the very publication where I am currently employed.

The auto-calling system got every phone within earshot.

Heh. They called me the other day. I gave my full work telephone greeting, Thank-you-for-calling-blah-blah-can-I-help-you? They were calling to offer me a Sunday subscription. "This is a business," I patiently explained. As if I hadn't just made that clear. "There's no one here on Sunday." Sheesh.
