Honestly? I loved UK. Terrific faculty and facilities. Active on-campus social life, the campus is very close to Lexington's downtown, and there is a lot of affordable near-campus housing.
Dislikes - the constant construction or renovation, and that was really little more than an inconvenience. The SGA is a punchline, of course, and really doesn't do anything good or bad. Ridiculous fanaticism for the sports program, but that's actually easy enough to ignore.
There's a good-sized grocery store about four blocks from the northeast corner of campus - I stop by there on my drive home from work once or twice a week to pick up the evening's dinner. There are scads of student-oriented stores and restaurants on the edge of campus, and the city's bus routes run through if you need to roam further out.
