I think I've played through the first game at least three times as Chris, and mostly through as the other two characters. I still love it - it's easily the best entertainment impulse purchase I've ever made.
I do agree that the second one's more challenging. Good vehicles are few and far between (I think maybe because you're expected to stockpile them at the base?), and money looks to be tighter this time around.
I like the change from Deck of 52 to High-Value Target. Completing a contract to get information on a wanted figure was plenty fun, but with the list (and possible locations) available right from the beginning with Mercs 2, you can focus on nabbing those guys.
I really wanted to hold off until I got a PS3, what with the promise of downloadable content, but that particular expenditure is a ways off.
