So far, it's a bang-up season for Lexington's minor-league baseball and indoor football teams.  The Legends are undefeated for the first time in the team's history, and the Horsemen clobbered Peoria last night.  Spycat and I are going to this afternoon's Legends game - sunny and 53 for the first pitch.  Not bad at all.

Wednesday night, I learned that sometimes it just doesn't pay to try and do some good.  Volunteered to go to Berea and pick up the cargo van I'd driven there last weekend.  Drove down in Spycat's little Tempo, got the van, headed back.  She got a bolt embedded in the driver's front tire, and the tire sealed around the bolt.  About 3 miles south of Richmond, the bolt blew out and the tire deflated.  Unwilling to change the tire at night on the side of I-75, we left the car and headed for Lexington.  Recovered the car Thursday morning.

Lots of bad weather here the past few days.  Tornadoes to the west of us, and very powerful thunderstorms here in Lexington.  Nothing like our neighbors to the south - better than 30 people killed by tornado hits in Tennessee.  Welcome to springtime in the Ohio Valley.

Spent a few hours on UK's campus yesterday.  Spycat had a meeting for her trip to Europe, and I used the time to ghost Careerbuilder and Monster.  Time to get some resumes out there, get a better-paying job, and start doing better than a break-even life.  On the way out of the Student Center, saw a certain little green Saturn.

Finished reading Michael Connolly's Trunk Music yesterday.  He's got a good voice, and I like the Harry Bosch character.  I'll probably track down some more of his stuff.  Moved from that to John Sandford's Rules of Prey.  Not deep enough into it to have a real opinion just yet, but it's a good read so far, and his villain is more to my liking.

For those of you who are Trinity fans, the Player's Guide is a free download at DriveThruRPG right now - http://www.drivethrurpg.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_2&products_id=981.  It's good stuff.

Today is Palm Sunday, celebrating Christ's entry into Jerusalem.

Legends 8, Blueclaws 1.  Great game, great weather, great non-game entertainment.

Take note:  any mention of Spycat in previous entries refers to [profile] spykeetom, my lovely girlfriend.  Pronunciation:  slight emphasis on the first syllable, last syllable rhymes with "mum."

Saw [profile] cc_wolff and some companions walking around downtown while we were going to the game this afternoon.  A pleasant surprise, even if we didn't have time or opportunity to talk.

To borrow from Stephen King, something of a hush has fallen over my creative life.  I have identified the cause, and it's time to either do an end-run around it or just beat it into dust.
