Feb. 25th, 2007 08:17 amIt's a pretty morning, after yesterday's rain. Quiet and peaceful. In preparation for Blue Planet, I'm watching Deep Blue on one of the Encores, and it is lovely.
Marine life fascinates me. The 39-foot squid caught by a trawler last week is amazing, and it creeps me right out. I tend to use the word "alien" a lot when I see or discuss marine life, and I guess that's really more accurate than I thought. The environment of a black smoker cluster unlike anything we could even remotely call "habitable," and there's an incredible density and variety of life down there.
Tonight's the Oscars. And I'm just not interested this time.
