Be My Girl
Sep. 2nd, 2007 01:19 amThis was a darn good day.
I wrote a hair over 1000 words while watching three, count 'em, three races on Speed (all at the Mosport course in Ontario).
I kept myself under control at Half-Price Books, only purchasing 5 books total - and the PageMaker guide I picked up still has the CD inside!
Erin and I saw The Simpsons Movie and howled like loons.
Had some family drama this week. Dad was hospitalized Friday night with some monster chest pains. A bout of pleurisy, instead of, oh, heart problems. Anti-inflammatory medications are doing a nice job.
Friday night at work, I got to indulge my inherent tendency towards misbehavior. A particular sales goon turned in a large number of ads just a few minutes before 6 p.m. Ads that had to be completed Friday night for publication this weekend - grr. All of these ads were quick work, thankfully, and I took care of them myself, to not use the time of the more capable designers on such minor things. I also approved the ads my own fool self, sending them all on their merry way. The rep, who is responsible for a lot of problems for our department, was still at her desk, waiting to see the ad proofs, when I went home around 8:30 p.m.
