Assaulting the Pillars of Heaven
Feb. 12th, 2008 08:30 amUgly weather started hitting here late yesterday afternoon, and when I left work, there was a good ground cover of snow and ice. My more-or-less necessary trek out to Hamburg was made much more tolerable thanks to the Explorer's terrific push-button 4-wheel-drive system. Got home, made a late dinner, watched Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, read, called it a night.
The snow has mostly changed to ice and rain this morning, and temps have just climbed above freezing. Rain and snow are forecast for most of the day, so while we're going to be cold and wet and miserable, I don't think we're going to see a repeat of the ice storm mess from five years ago this week.
In a bit less than 12 hours, my workweek comes to an end. I've got some loose plans about what to do and where to go during my time off from work, but I don't think anything will be solidly determined until I lock up the apartment and get in the truck.
