Blood and Roses
Apr. 19th, 2008 08:33 amI could really go for more weeks like the past one. One of the auto sales reps was on vacation, so my time with that team was very busy, and I spent an extra day with them. I was witness to a couple of meltdowns, though, from one person in my old department.
The week was shortened, too. I took yesterday off, originally with the intent of going to Conglomeration. Instead, I stayed around town and took care of some errands. Between GenCon and the two Collinsville trips, I'm doing enough con trips this year, I think.
Saw Street Kings. It's not a bad movie - there are moments of darn-goodness in it - but it's overall just not good. In a year, I won't remember seeing it. Keanu Reeves does pretty well, but Forest Whitaker just seems to do nothing but yell louder as the movie progresses. I guess the best lesson to take from this movie is, don't let Kurt Wimmer come in and muck around with a perfectly good James Ellroy script.
Thursday night, the game group playtested the first of two Twilight: 2013 games for DieCon. Went pretty well; we found some things to fix before the con, and possibly in the game's rules as well. Now, I've got to get cracking on my Spycraft games.
First, though, a quick proofing job for the kilochurch (came out of nowhere last night). A couple of hours' work, and a nice boost to the Macbook/Mustang/vacation fund.
