Friday was Day 2 of my SPHIS orientation, and there was more halo lighting. Doctor Blakely intercepted me as soon as I stepped into the Red Barn and whisked me aside to introduce me to the program director and three professors. He told them that I was the student they'd been looking at over the summer - hey, no pressure there, right? Talked myself up, listened a lot more than I talked, and I think I made good impressions.

Dad called in the evening. He was on his way to Louisville to unload on La Grange Road and asked me to scout out the site for a place he could park his truck. He got into town on Saturday afternoon and I picked him up and we went to Liberty. Hadn't planned on getting back there so soon, but it was a nice overnight getaway. Came back to Louisville Sunday evening, saw The Niece for a while, and he spent the night on my couch. Took him back to the truck ungodly early this morning, then came home and slept for a few hours.

Then, off to class. Except for one person, the student makeup of both of my Monday/Wednesday classes is the same. Very good to know, as that'll make it harder for me to get lost on my way to the evening class. Just follow the crowd. The workload is an order of magnitude greater than my last time through 300- and 400-level classes. There are more tools, to be sure, and I'm going to need them.
