Theater Tricks
Aug. 4th, 2018 07:50 pmMom's doing better, and things are getting back to normal.
I stayed in Liberty until Monday evening, taking care of both of them - plus the dog. Made sure that they had a handle on Mom's medication and testing schedule. Routed through Lexington to return a garage door opener, and got back to Louisville in a hurry. Maybe from exhaustion, maybe from relief, probably from both, I was asleep almost as soon as I closed my eyes.
Went through a Best Buy, a Meijer, and two targets on Tuesday, looking for the newly-released fourth and final season of Star Wars: Rebels. I wasn't completely sold on one moment in this final season, but on the whole, it continued being some of the best Star Wars storytelling I've ever encountered.
Related, at FFG's In-Flight Report Wednesday night, they revealed the "something big" for Armada teased at GenCon last year. We're getting a Super Star Destroyer, and it is beautiful. At least 24 inches long, with one or two variants able to fit into a standard 400-point Armada fleet. I don't in any way need this thing, but I sure do want it.
Saw Ant-Man and the Wasp Thursday. Kept the spirit of the first movie, dealing with some fallout from Civil War, and made for a heck of a good time.
I'm day-tripping up to Indianapolis in the morning. Going to get in a day of GenCon and see some of my people. I've missed conventions this year, and I'm going to do my best to get back to GenCon for the entire weekend next year. I'll almost certainly do it as Crafty's coordinator, but I'd go up as a civilian with the right set of folks.
