Bottom of the sixth inning and my Dodgers are down 4-7 against the goddamn Cincinnati Reds. Arizona is currently leading the Rockies, but that's cold comfort given how close the NL West is right now.

Heavy rain hit the area this weekend. Some street flooding in Louisville, and one fatality - a cabbie drove into standing water under a railroad bridge, killing the engine and trapping him in the vehicle. Things are worse around Lexington. Closed roads, flooded businesses and homes. Haven't heard of any fatalities. There was a brief tornado warning for the home county Saturday afternoon, which made me a little nervous on my drive back here from Lexington, but seems that nothing came of it.

This weather system has had one very good effect, though. It's knocked the heat away for a while. Stayed in the 70s yesterday and today; it was almost chilly when I went out for a walk last night. Things are going to be interesting in the next few days. There's a Category 3 hurricane heading towards the Carolinas, and the forecast is not reassuring. There are already evacuation orders in the area, and this is the kind of storm that blows inland and then stalls out, dumping a whole lotta rain, and if it stays on the eastern side of the Appalachians, that means heavy rain on places that are already saturated.

Jesus. Top of the 7th, and the Dodgers are now down 4-10.
