tracker7My meeting with Dr. L went really well. He's offered to write a recommendation for me, and gave me a lot of good advice on getting into the MPH program and options to pursue while I'm there. Onward.
Played in a X-Wing tournament Saturday. Small tournout due to weather, and I finished towards the bottom of the pack. Got in some after-tournament play with the new Scum & Villainy ships; those are darned interesting options for the game. I picked up a M3-A and the Most Wanted box, and probably will cap my S&V purchases there. FFG did a pretty cool thing with Most Wanted - the box includes a Y-Wing and a pair of Z-95s, all in new paint jobs, and some enhancement cards, but the biggest value add is a set of pilot cards and bases for Firesprays and HWK-290s.
Headed to Mom&Dad's after the tournament. Good visit. Up until the drive back to Louisville, anyway. I drove through some debris around the Bullitt/Jefferson line. Just north of the Watterson interchange, my rear driver's-side tire deflated rapidly and from my perspective, rather dramatically. Got to the shoulder about a mile south of the Eastern Parkway exit, changed the tire (with the assistance of, well, Roadside Assistance due to a stripped lugnut) and made it to campus in time for Epidemiology. I missed a COMM exam, but have the option to take a makeup or just drop this one from my semester score.
And then, the weather. Tuesday night, rain and dropping temperatures. Rain became sleet, and then more damn snow. Nearly a foot here, with higher amounts just south of here. I-65 was closed down around Elizabethtown, with a couple hundred vehicles stranded for hours. Cleanup is still going on, as a lot of vehicles were abandoned and some stretches of the highway are single-lane right now.
The University of Louisville cancelled classes on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. Contingency plans were already in place - some additional writing assignments. Behold, the era of Blackboard.
Heading back to Mom&Dad's this afternoon, this time with The Niece. Hoping to take care of some delayed maintenance on the Focus. Lots of homework, too.
