I decamped to the county library around midday Friday when Miranda came barging over, uninvited and unannounced, of course. I hadn't been there in years, and this was my first visit since the lengthy remodeling. It's still a lovely building, but I miss my corner reading/working table near the huge west-facing window.
Cabin fever got the best of me that evening, and I agreed to take Mom on a very brief shopping run. She and Dad had decided on a new TV as part of their gifts for each other - mostly related to some long overdue home improvements - so, off we went to Columbia to brave a Walmart. Mom wasn't all that happy with my refusal to go anywhere in the store except the electronics section, but I was the one with the keys and credit cards, so, nothing but love, Mom, but what are you going to do? Got back home pretty quickly (less than 15 minutes inside the store, fuck yeah) and set this ridiculous thing up.
And broke it in in fine fashion on Saturday, watching UofL Cardinal Football beat UK 44-17 - sweet revenge for last year's game. Some online shopping Saturday afternoon, and then I headed back to Louisville. Got home around 8:30, and was in bed a couple of hours later. I picked up Dad's cold, I think, but store-brand Dayquil is keeping it at bay for the most part.
