We wrapped up the first chapter of the Mage game Sunday night. Short a couple of players, which I'm pretty sure led to our GM truncating some things, but it was a good time. The GM, Drew, asked for ideas on what we want to do next, so there's my next gaming challenge.

Monday afternoon, The Niece and I headed back to Lexington for another visit with Mom. Mom was tired, but felt pretty good, and I think she was ready for some company that wasn't Dad. We talked a lot and made some plans for her recovery at home. It was a good visit.

The hope was, Mom would be released on Wednesday the 25th, so I made plans to go to Liberty then and help out. I held off a day after Dad called to let me know that release would be delayed a day. Mowed the front yard, took care of a couple of errands, waited. Rolled out Thursday morning, and got a text from Dad - one more day. I was nearly to Springfield, and had a package being delivered to Mom&Dad's, so I rolled on and had the house to myself for a while. The world's neediest Doberman got attention, maybe more than he wanted, my new book and toy starship arrived, and I watched a lot of The X-Files on BBC America.

Finally, she was released this afternoon. Her heart, newly repaired, wasn't beating in a rhythm her surgeon was happy with, but that sorted out, and she's home now. Recovery is going to be a long road. We'll get through it, though, and I'm looking forward to having a healthier, stronger Mom around for years to come.

The outpouring of support over the last two weeks has amazed me. Friends and family-by-choice offered every assistance under the sun. I have to remember this, so that I can continue to be worthy of it.

Oh, the package! Thrawn: Alliances, a new Star Wars novel by Timothy Zahn, and the Profundity (MC75 cruiser) expansion pack for Armada. Redeemed a stack of rewards points for an Amazon card and got those for next to nothing.
