tracker7Converted some customer loyalty points into a VISA gift card Saturday morning before Armada, and bought the new Blue Rose core book after Garrett and I finished blowing each other's fleets up. I had a copy of the old True20 version way back when, and thought pretty highly of it. So far, the new version doesn't disappoint. It's a gorgeous books, full color and glossy paper and all that. Nifty setting, giving a realm that isn't perfect, but is an objectively good place worth protecting. Very very progressive, lots of gender/sex/etc politics front and center, and unashamed of it. Hoping to run a one-shot of it after GenCon.
There's that phrase - "after GenCon." I haven't said it with any meaning in a few years, but it feels so comfortable. I'm looking forward to getting back to Indy for the full weekend for the first time since 2014. Hanging out with the friends I only get to see at GenCon, watching the waves of people come through the Exhibit Hall, and this time around, playing in some X-Wing events. Just getting away, and being back in the place and time that recharges me for the rest of the year.
Got the last box off to Noble Knight this morning. Hopefully, by this time next week the store credit will be applied to my account and I can have the next few months' worth of gaming purchases covered. I've got a small GenCon shopping list - three items - and after that ... well, we'll see what gets produced and published. I tell myself that I'm done collecting entire product lines that I'm not actively playing, and I figure I can keep to that commitment for at least a couple of months, maybe even a year. I'm not a strong man, and I accept that.
Oh, hey, Weird Al Yankovic was at a Bats game last night! Was on his way from Nashville to ... somewhere in Indiana, stopped in Louisville for the night, and decided to take in some baseball.
