The plane is a two-engine Bombardier CRJ commuter jet. Clipped trees just after getting off the ground; may have still had its landing gear down.
The plane caught fire when it crashed, and airport fire crews put it out quickly. The fuselage is being described as mostly intact. The surviving crewman was pulled out by a Lexington fireman and policeman. Flight data recorders have been found.
A temporary morgue is being set up onsite, and the state forensic investigator has arrived.
Blue Grass Airport has been reopened, and at least three flights have left since the crash.
