I don't think either of us is wrong, but I have the exact opposite reaction to Shadowdark and DCC. For me, Shadowdark hits the same sweet spot as the first edition of Feng Shui does: focused, low-prep, and a retro aesthetic paired with modern design. DCC feels more like a callback to an era of D&D that I was never a part of, and thus don't have any nostalgia for.
