Sunday was a first-time-in-a-long-time event - I attended church services.  Erin conducted the handbell choir at Union Church in Berea, and I went to support her.  I've been to events at Union a few times (three Christmas concerts and my ol' pal Erik's wedding), and am favorably impressed with the pastor there, Kent Gilbert.  The Sunday service reinforced that.  The blending of ritual and genuine worship and Kent's sermon was a really good thing.  There's very little feeling of being there out of habit.  I don't expect I'll be any kind of regular attendee, but when Erin's conducting, I certainly won't feel like being at the service is a chore done in exchange for seeing her lead.

Sunday afternoon was the family-by-choice Christmas to-do at C&C's house.  Lots of food and games and general whoopass.  Only downer was the discovery that my grill needs a new burner, but as it's almost 4 years old, that's no big surprise.

Still haven't gotten Reign of Steel off the ground.  I'm trying again this week, and I really need to run this thing, because I do miss the gaming, and even more than that, I need to be reminded that there's some post-apocalypse stuff out there that I like and am inspired by.

Went to BW3 with Erin and her mom last night.  We had a really good time, even if the Colts beat our Bengals.

Christmas is a few days away.  Got all the gifts.  Got 'em all wrapped.  This is going to be a bittersweet holiday, as it's probably going to be the last one I have with my grandmother.
