The regular season is over. The Dodgers finished 104-58, best record in the majors and tied for second-best in team history. It's the Diamondbacks and the Rockies for the NL wild card game, and the winner there faces the Dodgers for the NLDS. On the other side of the NL bracket, it's the Cubs versus the Nationals, and there's some AL teams, too.

Monthly Armada tournament on Saturday. Jumped over to the Imperial side this time, feeling the need to play with some ships that hadn't seen much/any use. Fielded a Gladiator, two Arquitens cruisers, two Raider corvettes, and a small fighter group. First round was against another Imperial force - an ISD, two Arquitens, one Raider. This player and I had talked about the use of the Arquitens-class during Thursday nights practice games. The ship is in a weird place - it's closer to Rebel heavy ships in terms of fire arcs than its Imperial fleetmates. Powerful side arcs, far weaker front/rear arcs. I gave mine some improved side-arc firepower, and it worked out pretty well. I cleared his smaller ships, and while my fighters harried the ISD throughout the match, but that monster was able to do enough damage to my fleet to give him the win on points. Round two, I faced six Rebel corvettes (4 CR90s and 2 Hammerheads), a GR75 flotilla, and a small A-Wing flight. Again, my fighters did their share, tying up and clearing his before getting in some hits on one of the Hammerheads. At the end of round one, we both predicted that most of our ships would blow past each other and be out of the fight for much of the fight, and sure enough, that's what happened. We knocked out half of each others' force, and he won on points from the objective. Since there were only four of us, everyone got a nice stack of prizes (tokens, coins, alt-art cards) and I won two drawings for an alt-art admiral and a second round tracker dial. A pretty good day at PSC.

Yesterday, so much football. London game coverage started at 9:30AM, then the regular array of afternoon and evening games. Good showing by the Bengals against a very bad Browns team, the Panthers beat the Patriots, the Raiders had a mediocre showing, and the Colts were just terrible. So help me, I'm close to jumping back on the Raiders wagon.

The past few nights, I've had nightmares, probably related to the ongoing anxiety problems. One, I was at-fault for a kid's death, the other was more movie-like, with monsters and such. Remarkable, mostly, because I remembered them.

Woke up this morning, and as usual, checked various social media. One of my contacts had marked himself as "safe in Las Vegas," and that set off some alarms. Mass shooting at a music festival on the Strip. Over 50 dead, 400+ hospitalized to various degrees. Single shooter, firing from a room in the Mandalay Bay hotel. I've been in the place where the rounds hit. Been in the lobby of the hotel the terrorist fired from. And this weekend, my city was host to a music festival, similarly-sized. This fucker could have stood on the I-71 shoulder and opened up on Louder Than Life, on some of my friends. Sandy Hook, Pulse, Route 91 Harvest Festival. There doesn't seem to be a point of "Enough Already." Fuck Wayne LaPierre and the NRA and the Congresspeople they've bought. Fuck all of it.

Enough already.
