Finally got out of  the apartment last night, but only to do laundry.  I'm sure that this place is going to need at least a can of aerosol disinfectant to kill off all the germs I've expelled in the last five days or so.  I'm going to wipe down my desk area at work when I get there today, too.

This cold has been a bad bad thing.  Not only did it result in scrubbing this week's Trinity game, but it kept me from getting to a birthday party for my grandmother.

Heroes wraps up its first season tonight.  I'm jonesing for it something fierce, but I'm also thinking really hard about catching a movie after work instead.  Last thing I saw in theaters was Ghost Rider, and that was better than three months ago.  Leading candidates are a Paul Verhoeven World War II espionage flick done with his normal restraint and good taste and Hot Fuzz.

No spider dreams for a while.  Could be that my brain is too busy cooking itself (read somewhere that the brain only fires about 1% of available neuron connections at a time to avoid overheating) to come up with invading arachnids.  Maybe just as weird, though, was an anime dream I had Thursday or Friday night.  There's just something wrong with dreaming in cartoon.

Is Paul's new movie the one that's entirely in Dutch about the Geman occupation? That's looking really good, and not a giant alien bug or cyborg policeman in site.

As for Hot Fuzz, it's very British humour but if you appreciate that sort of thing you'll laugh yourself silly.

All that aside, Heroes is only on for one night, while movies are on every night. I think you know what to do ;)

Verhoeven: Yep, Black Book - Germans and a torch singer and all that good stuff. This is the last week it'll be here, and it's not playing every night. As Heroes will be, of course, recorded, I can catch that one at my leisure.

I thought Shaun of the Dead was one of the most wonderful things I've ever seen, so Hot Fuzz promises to be a whole bunch of fun. From what I understand, it explodes into a John Woo-level orgy of violence in the latter third, and I could really go for that right now.

John Woo = yes. Moreso, even. Priests and old women on bicycles whip out automatic weapons. It's glorious.

And more than that... Timothy Dalton, Belloq from Raiders of the Lost Ark (the priest) and many more fantastic parts I won't mention.

If you're DVR'ing Heroes then get yourself some Hot Fuzz by all means :p

As it turned out, I went for _Black Book_, and it was really good. One _extremely_ vile moment, but it was a bad spot in a movie full of terrific drama, intrigue, and no small amount of sexiness.

_Hot Fuzz_ tomorrow or Wednesday, maybe, as I'm watching _Heroes_ now.

I'd love to have watched Heroes by now, too, but twice now I've downloaded the ep and it's been infested with spyware! Oh well, third time's a charm...

Hot Fuzz might be worth missing the finale for. Esp. if you can just watch it online later.
