Shannon Adkins was my second cousin.  Sweet, bright, a great kid.  Seven weeks shy of her 19th birthday.

I don't care about the well-being of Desiree Olsen and her children.  She chose to place her own convenience above the safety of others.

I know that in time, this will pass, but today, I just want revenge.

Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

I have to admit, this is a little extra-jaw dropping for me because a couple of years ago I visited relatively nearby. My mother-in-law grew up in Goldsboro, and we all went out there to see the grandparents, aunts and uncles Thanksgiving 2006.

We did a bit of driving around and I understand how dark and dangerous those roads could be.

One of the articles I read noted that the population in that area is just outgrowing the roads in place. There was a lot of traffic on the secondary roads we took in the area, and the volume sometimes got a little scary.
