She's a Beauty

spykeetom in my inbox this morning. Made me smile - and a little bit lonesome.
Dad will be passing close by in about 20 minutes. A load of BMWs for Indianapolis and Fort Wayne. We spent some time on the phone this morning; I'm quite often his source for directions and mileage checks.
Haven't said much of anything about this, but I think I'm getting close to losing my grandmother. She's had a few bad spells in recent weeks, and while I've been strongly denying it to myself, she is deteriorating quickly. She's a month past her 85th birthday, and that is a really good run, and I know that we don't live forever. She's the family matriarch, though, and that kind of loss is not an easy thing to face. She and I have always been close; I'm not going to deal with this especially well.
