I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
Apr. 22nd, 2007 11:33 amYesterday was a good one. Drove to Liberty to pick up my niece so we could go to the Georgetown Kite Festival. Beautiful warm sunny day, and great for the drive. Saw the big crazy backup on New Circle of folks trying to get to Keeneland, and made note to not take that route when we got back to Lexington.
The Kite Festival was a lot of fun - plenty of kites (of course), and a sampling of other cultural exhibits. We hoofed down to the garden at the Cardome Center's south end and watched the martial arts exhibit and some koi. Heard the BC Afro-Latin Drum Ensemble. Saw catgirls (not just for cons anymore, it seems). After a couple hours, we headed back to Lexington.
Micahalia is a big fan of Buffalo wings, so we went to BW3 - her first trip there. She loves the spicy garlic ones now. Went to Trail Blazers to see Matt, who was very surprised to see her. Then, off to Lexington Green so she could feed the koi there. We also hit Toys R Us, where she got some accessories for her DS. My plans, up until now, were to get some games and PS2 stuff from my place and take her back to Liberty (where I'd stay the night). Instead, Matt picked her up later that evening and she stayed with him.
This was a terrific spring day, but it exhausted me. Up for 18 hours on 5 hours of sleep. I slept for almost 11 hours after I went to bed last night.
Today looks to be a good one, too. Trinity this afternoon, followed by some grilling. I'm heading out to Lowe's in a bit to get some repair parts for the grill.
