I expect I'll finish Homeward Bound (Harry Turtledove) today. It's been a good read, and I don't regret picking it up, but compared to the previous books, it's a little soft. It doesn't have the action and intrigue of the Worldwar books, or the sociology of Colonization.
Yesterday was my state's primary election day. Incumbent Governor came from behind to beat his closest challenger pretty handily. He'll have to face a pretty strong Democrat challenger who had the remarkable good sense to pick a stellar running mate. There was a good chance of a runoff election on the Dem side, but I think we've avoided that by a few thousand votes. Over in the race-for-useless-position-of-State-Treasurer, the cat who proudly trumpeted his endorsement by Kentucky Right-to-Life got beat by a little bit. His print ads (which I had to proof and process) made me boggle.
Probably going to dodge this weekend's family reunion. Lots of other things I'd rather do.
