This was an interesting day.
Some dumbass freshman posted a threat to shoot up one of the dorms. Since he posted this threat from his room in said dorm, he was identified pretty quickly. Caused some consternation, needless to say.
Didn't disrupt the reason I was on campus five-and-a-half hours before class - a reception for an SPHIS alumna. Some nice recognition, and hey, she came to SPHIS as a non-traditional student! Lots of introductions after the program ended, and once again ... man, this is exciting, but it's still somewhat intimidating. There was another upper-division undergraduate there, and she and I were introduced with variants of "these are two of the ones we've had our eyes on." Whew. I mean, it's pretty nifty getting that kind of promotion from one of your instructors, but when it's the school's dean doing it (after greeting you upon entry by your first name) ... yeah. No pressure.
