Enjoy the Silence
Jan. 13th, 2015 10:51 pmThe first week of the semester is done. Most of the old gang is back together, and I can already see a form of cliquish or tribal behavior developing - there's the core group of veterans, and the runners, and then the newcomers to SPHIS. Protodentist is firmly shunned, and thankfully is only in one class.
I think COMM305 is going to be a solid GPA booster, but not a cakewalk. POLS326 is interesting; I don't have any kind of handle on it yet, though. Epidemiology is, well, it's pretty darn cool and I sure do dig on the subject matter - I'll have to keep ahead of this one, as it builds on last semester's troublesome Biostatistics. Similarly, 405 is going to build on 400; culture, health, and interactions thereof.
Thursdays are going to be a problem. I have two classes, 1:00-2:15 and then a long-ass gap until 6PM. I'll grab lunch in there somewhere, and get some reading and other homework done, and, well, I know me. There'll be Netflix time.
Saw a truck wedged beneath the deck of one of the railroad overpasses on Third Street this morning. A 13'6"-high van trailer will not, in fact, fit through an 11'8" clearance. Trailer was torn to shit, driver seemed unhurt but embarassed. Unrelated, weather sirens were going off when I crossed Eastern Parkway and stepped onto campus. Never a dull moment on Belknap, folks.
