Spirit in the Sky
Oct. 27th, 2017 11:43 pmI saw Rick at PSC on Wednesday, and he looked quite relaxed and happy. We talked a little baseball, he sold me some books and a little toy spaceship, and all was well. I'm very happy for him, and at the same time, I'm going to miss the atmosphere at the shop.
There's a X-Wing tournament at PSC tomorrow. I half expect I'll go, mostly to see some friends and get in one last game there. One the other hand, the weather forecast is no great, and an afternoon on the couch may win out over a drive down to Shepherdsville.
After a stellar performance in the first game, the Dodgers are behind 2-1 in the World Series. The Astros are playing terrific baseball, and the Dodgers aren't doing themselves any favors with some bad bullpen decisions. Game 2 saw a great moment with the opening pitch ceremony - Vin Scully came out to make the throw, but stopped in his windup and called up Fernando Valenzuela to relieve him. Great theater, and good to hear Vin and see FV again.
Cool and rainy again, dropping into the 30s overnight with a chance of snow mixing in with the rain a couple of hours before sunrise. It's messy out there, and I'm glad to be on the other side of the windows from it.
