Moonage Daydream

I did go play X-Wing yesterday, and it turned out to be a good decision - had I not gone, I probably would have stayed on the couch and just been wholly idle. I expected to see some of the ships affected by the upcoming rules update to make a final appearance, but none did, and the play was better for it. I went 1-2 with an all-Aces Rebel squad (Wedge & Wes & Horton), placing fifth overall out of eight on the basis of getting in a lot of kills in my losses. Came home with a pocketful of prizes - four alt-art pilot cards, a couple packets of acrylic tokens (joked that "I fly Rebels, what am I supposed to do with these evade tokens?"), and a ridiculous stack of EPT alt-arts, the last destined for the trade/giveaway bag. It was a good time.

Also good, World Series game four. The Dodgers had a no-hitter going into the sixth, when Houston scored on a solo home run. L.A. had a five-run ninth, and evened the Series 2-2 with a final score of 6-2.

Not good, Louisville's game against Wake Forest. Lamar Jackson turned in a heck of a game (again), but the team as a whole couldn't keep it together. This time last season, there was (admittedly overhyped) talk about a national championship run; now, I think the best hope is for two more wins and a decent postseason bid.
