That's not my Name
Jun. 1st, 2026 07:08 pmDecided to pass on Origins. Again. I looked at things rationally and reran the costs and it just makes no sense at all to spend the money on a couple of nights in a hotel and parking and/or Uber/Lyft and all that just because I want to get a book before it hits FLGS shelves. And anyway a friend offered to pick it up for me so that's taken care of.
The two-month-long I-65 shutdown started today. I expected it to be Mad Max out there, but things weren't bad, at least where I drove. Some backup at the 264-65 interchange, easily thwarted by getting into the left lanes until getting clear of things. The big test, for me, will be Thursday when I go out to Henry and Bullitt to see people. I'll detour over to Bardstown Road via 265 and just run that way back to downtown.
The day wasn't without incident, of course. The Can Opener bridge got three trucks today, which local lore suggests is a single-day career best. I'm betting it'll get 80 before this is over.
