I don't really know how to sell it by giving you details, but it's written by Paul Cornell, who is a solid writer. I mean, he's put Blade in the series, and it hasn't sent me screaming yet. Pete Wisdom is just a lot of fun, and even though I hate vampires on principle, Dracula is one of the major villains, there is at least one vampire and one borderline vampire (don't ask) on the team, and there are enough respectful connections to Excalibur that I'm satisfied. Also, Meggan is floating around out there, and there are teasers that she may come back for good in the upcoming annual.
It's a book about a British govt organization - MI-13, that sort of conscripts all Britain's super-heroes as a result of the Skrull invasion. There is also a character named John the Skrull who's been working with the govt for years who sort of landed on earth, decided he liked it, and has been masquerading around as John Lennon for years gleaning all the benefits. If that's not Skrulls used properly, I don't know what is. I know if *I* was a Skrull... anyway :P
I think the current team roster is Cap. Britain, Pete Wisdom, Lady Jacqueline/Spitfire, Blade, Black Knight, and Faiza Hussein (new character, created by Cornell, I think).
