The three hours of my CERT class Thursday night were more productive and interesting and rewarding than the 32 hours I spent at the office last week. The firefighters who handled our hands-on training were a terrific bunch of guys, and their captain had no shortage of cop jokes.

The Earthdawn game's progressing well enough, but I could not stay focused on playing last session. Wednesday night group took another week off from Hollow Earth Expedition, and I'm starting to think maybe this game's not going to work out. Not something I can devote a lot of time to right now, as I've got a Traveller one-shot in a few days, and I'm still cramming for that one. Looking forward to getting in a Legend of the Five Rings game that day, too.

Have you ever considered being a paramedic or an EMT or some such? I honestly don't know what one has to do to do it. I wish I had done something like that instead at the start of this. I think I'd be at least okay at it.

I looked at EMT training a few years ago, and not to ever demean these good folks, but it's not quite what I want to do.
