Everybody Wants to Rule the World
Jun. 14th, 2015 01:14 pmYesterday, I was in my first roleplaying game session since quitting the very bad Star Wars game several months back. D&D 5th Edition. A lot of good, some bad, and I had a good time. Mostly good players, a sharp GM, and an interesting sandbox campaign setting. The adventure itself was a trap/puzzle dungeon (so much hate for those), and, well, nerds gonna rage when their sacred (and stupid) cows get gored. On the whole, the positives far outweighed the negatives, so I'll go back for more.
This is a cool thing - the Philae lander is up and running again! It's getting power as 67P gets closer to the Sun, and sent messages and data to Earth.

If the player is new or returning from an old edition, they're more interested in adventures than worlds right now.
I do love the little callouts to published D&D settings scattered throughout the Player's Handbook.
