I was in a strange strange mood last night.  Felt like I wasn't really here.  Managed to get some writing done, as that's my default action for weird times.

For those of you following the saga at home, my grandmother is in better shape.  Her appetite and energy have come back.  The damage to her aorta and valve is still irreparable, however, as it's the opinion of her doctors that she's just too week to undergo surgery.  Something my father pointed out in a phone call - it was 7 years ago, almost to the week, that we found out that my grandfather was terminal.

A line on a new job has been thrown my way.  It's incredibly tentative, but it's another glimmer of hope - editing at a small publisher here in town.

Today's the first day of summer.  Not sure the exact moment of the equinox or anything, don't especially care today.  For those that take part, enjoy your solstice celebrations!

18 days.

I'm sorry, hon. *hugs you* I'm glad to hear about a new job possibility, though.

Thank you. On both counts.

I keep telling myself, 85 years is a terrific run, and she's had a good life. Doesn't mean it's not going to hurt like Hell when the time's over.
