It's midterm election day. There's good news and bad coming in already. On the positive, generally awful person Kim Davis (no relation, thank goodness) lost her county clerk seat over in Rowan County. It looks like Greg Fischer is going to get a third term as Louisville's mayor, and John Yarmuth is going to continue to represent KY-3. Bad news - over in KY-6, Garland Fucking Barr has pulled into a growing lead against Amy McGrath. McGrath ran a heck of a good, extremely positive campaign, and early reporting showed her with a good lead.

Turnout, at least here in Jefferson County, was up over the 2016 election. My location was busy around 10:30 this morning, and lengthy lines were reported throughout the county. Lines were long enough in some of Lexington's precincts that additional voting machines were brought in.

Dammit. One of Lexington's TV stations has called the KY-6 race for Barr. Looks like some of the poorest counties in the country decided that they want to stay a backwater shithole.

People who don't know Kentucky laugh when I tell them that this state has places where Justified is a documentary.

The missus wondered last night if McGrath might do better running against Mitch the Turtle in 2020.
