tracker7I'm finally getting around to watching the third - and sadly final - season of Netflix's Daredevil. Man, Vincent D'Onofrio is so good as Wilson Fisk. Really, everyone in this is very good, but he's such a standout.
Andy Beshear was inaugurated as Kentucky's 63rd Governor this week. Right off the bat, he's replaced Bevin's charter school-friendly Board of Education and restored voting rights to about 140,000 non-violent offenders who completed their sentences.
Bevin kept up his awfulness right up to the end. Pardoned five convicted murderers - including one whose family made a sizable contribution to Bevin's campaigns. Refused to vacate the Governor's mansion until the midnight inauguration. Took a couple of cheap shots at opponents and even a few supporters who maybe didn't support him hard enough. What a petty little man.
Housemate's friend was in a car accident Monday afternoon. He's not hurt, but the car was totaled. Said car, or the remains of it, has been sitting in my front yard for about 72 hours now. I'm not happy with this situation, and the landlord is not really thrilled, either. The thing has to go.
Inside the house, the refrigerator crapped out. Freezer compartment still works, and my trusty camping cooler is keeping perishables from perishing. Repairman came by today, and said while it can be fixed, replacing it is more cost-effective. The fridge is pretty old, and the needed parts are pricey. So, pretending like we're camping inside until Monday, when the new unit arrives.
